Full-Time General Construction Labourer in Fort McMurray
Job Description
Position Type/ Hours:
This is a temporary full-time position working forty (40) hours per week for approximately three (3) months within the Municipal Operations Branch of the Public Works Department. This position is within the CUPE 1505 Bargaining Unit.
Position Description:
Under close supervision, perform manual labourer duties; clean and maintain all assigned areas/facilities, and perform general labour tasks in assigned department. Remain flexible to respond to the immediate needs of your area to increase overall effectiveness of operations. Operate variety of small equipment such as ride-on lawn mowers and tool cat.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Previous labourer experience would be an asset.
You will possess the following:
A Valid Alberta Class Five (5) Driver’s Licence with safe driving record (no more than 2 demerit points); any infractions will be reviewed.
Must communicate effectively and understand instruction and safety procedures.
Must be able to demonstrate dependability and reliability.
Ability to perform heavy manual labour for extended durations of time in all weather conditions.
Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
Pay Level:
PL 6
Salary Range:
$35.10 (Temporary Rate)
In addition to the rate of pay, we offer:
– an additional bi-weekly payment of $480 which represents a cost of living allowance (pro-rated based on the amount of hours worked)
