Vancouver Trolley offers the city’s only fleet of San Francisco-style sightseeing trolleys that allow riders to experience Vancouver year round through hop-on/hop-off tours, provides seasonal tours such as the Stanley Park Shuttle, Evening Combo Tour, Haunted Vancouver Trolley Tour and Karaoke Christmas Lights Tour, year round shuttle service to the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and year round private coach/trolley charter services. We are a USDOT carrier licensed to go into the United States.
Our high season is approaching and Vancouver Trolley has several immediate full time and part time openings for enthusiastic, friendly, and engaging Tour Bus and Charter Drivers to operate our fleet in the beautiful city of Vancouver, BC.
What’s it like to work as a Vancouver Trolley Driver? Your days will be varied, where no day is ever the same as the last! One day you may be running tours in the morning, then operating shuttles or point-to-point transfers in the afternoon and evening. Expect to use your upbeat personality on a regular basis as you provide informative commentary to our riders during tours.
On a regular basis, you will:
Operate trolley and/or charter buses, providing full commentary (script provided) as you drive hop-on/hop-off tours;
Complete pre-trip vehicle inspection, fueling, and ensure you are equipped with appropriate point-of-sale and communication device;
Sell tickets to various attractions at each stop;
Provide full commentary on tours, including describing the history of the city, the local natural landscape, architecture, etc.; and
Provide excellent customer service to all passengers.
We are looking for people who:
Have OR would like to be trained to upgrade to: Class 2 Driver’s Licence with Air Brakes Endorsement
In addition to the qualifications above, you must be a responsible individual with a winning personality. We want to speak with you if you are the type of person who enjoys teaching and passing on your knowledge to tourists in an engaging and friendly manner. We will be providing you with a full script to start with, but we welcome and encourage you to inject your own personality and flare into it once you’re up and running. If you consider yourself a “performer” then you’d be a good fit for the role.
Please note that you must be able to work flexible hours, as required.
In exchange for all your hard work and determination, you can look forward to receiving the following benefits:
Receive commissions above and beyond your hourly salary for every attraction ticket you sell to passengers;
Attend FREE “familiarization trips” for the attractions we visit on our tours, allowing you to experience the local sites first-hand – can be up to once per week during high season. In the past, these have included float plane trips, whale watching, or complimentary meals at local restaurants; and
Full training program including classroom training, ride-alongs, group sessions, and propane fueling training, etc.
