Job Description
Job Description Overview: The warehouse assistant is responsible for assisting a wide variety of warehouse activities including shipping and receiving goods and maintaining inventory and associated records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains customer database by entering any new and updated customer and account information.
Checks inventory to make sure requested product is available
Verifies customer information is correct and up-to-date
Enters order data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information on a keyboard.
Verifies entered customer and order data by reviewing, deleting, correcting, and/or re-entering data that may or may not have been correct in the first place (due most commonly to human error during the order writing process).
Processes customer and account source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures
Purging files to eliminate duplication of data.
Assist in daily warehouse and shipping areas including: filling and shipping customer orders, satisfying internal shipping requirements, ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation, receiving incoming material and routing to appropriate area or personnel, ensuring inventory transactions are accurately logged and performing cycle counts and reconciliation activities.
Assist with creation of reports associated with performance and/or any data pertaining to supply chain Will help create, sustain and improve the current lean supply chain
Other duties as assigned by Management
Speaking Mandarin/Cantonese will be an asset.
Required Qualifications:
Computer Hardware and Associated Software (e.g. data entry, document management, label making, machine control, warehouse management systems, order process systems, transportation management systems, scanning, procurement)
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
Strong organizational, task prioritizing, and time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task and manage work flow priorities
Ability to work confidently work in a rapidly changing, fast-paced and results-oriented corporate environment where a high degree of flexibility is required
Must be available for overtime and weekends if necessary.
Some warehouse experience will be a plus
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the use of computer, stand-alone ladder and pallet jack.
Work involves physical work in a warehouse setting includes mobility, bending, reaching above shoulder level and occasional lifting and carrying objects (up to 40 pounds) and perform similar actions during the course of the workday.
Scanning Equipment (e.g. bar code scanning equipment)
Packaging Tools (e.g. staplers, tape guns, strapping machines)
Material Handling Equipment (e.g. Dollies, hand trucks, jacks, pallet trucks)
