JOB SUMMARY
The Community Driver is responsible for driving residents to and from various locations. He/she provides excellent customer service through the safe and efficient driving to designated locations in addition to following established policies, procedures and safety standards. The Community Driver must ensure that the community car and bus are in good operating condition at all times before it is utilized.
KEY DUTIESProvides driving services to residents, greets residents and assists them with entrance on and exit off of the community car and bus.Establishes and maintains a positive atmosphere that consistently ensures enjoyment, self-respect, dignity and physical safety of each resident.Maintains a clean and safe work environment and reports any equipment/vehicle malfunctions.Assists Residents and Life Enrichment Department in delivering bags, packages and notices to resident suites.Assists in keeping the Lobby, Fireside and Boulevard Lounge set up as per prescribe standards.Assists Life enrichment Department with event set-up in the community.Attends in-service training and continuing education programs, general staff and department meetings as scheduled.Keeps the Life Enrichment Coordinator and General Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken.Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position.Ensures that own work is carried out in accordance with applicable environmental, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures and all other legislation, policies and procedures relevant to the work. Performs other related duties consistent with the duties outlined above as assigned.
STATEMENT OF (MINIMUM) QUALIFICATIONS
Education:High School Diploma
License/Designation:Valid ‘F’ driver’s licenseDriver’s record in good standing
Experience:One (1) year experience in concierge, driver or related field
Knowledge:Bus operationLegislative regulations and policies relevant to the workBus cleaning standardsGeneral understanding of the organization, its core values and operationsApplicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers
