The position of Material Handler will report to the Supply Chain Manager and will be responsible for ensuring the stable flow of materials in the supply chain and assisting in the distribution and processing of parts within the company. The Material Handler is also accountable for handling and managing all stock items, receiving deliveries into the warehouse and filling orders provided by different departments.

The specific responsibilities required to successfully perform in the position are listed below:

* Load, unload and move products and material by hand or equipment * Pick orders and prepare for shipping including: stacking, wrapping and crating products * Pick, pack, and label kits according to the work instructions * Package customer orders and ensure the proper documents accompany orders, within an allotted time and according to set schedules * Perform other handling duties such as counting, weighing and sorting  * Check received orders and confirm that inventory transactions are completed and documented * Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders * Maintain in-process inventory by delivering and opening materials and supplies * Document materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units * Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product * Document product shipment by recording units shipped * Maintain material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; coordinating operator repairs * Act as a backup to the Shipper/Receiver  * Prepare production materials, which includes picking, sorting and printing of Terminal Block and Wire markers * Complete inventory and re-stocking of production consumables * Organize and maintain inventory bin/materials/project locations * Perform incoming parts quality inspections * Movement of completed product during production-testing-shipping stages * Complete final product clean-up and inspection prior to packing * Occasional material pick up from vendors and customer deliveries * Maintain good housekeeping and work in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures; properly use personal protection and safety equipment as required * Take direction from the Production Manager and Lead Hands * Support other functions within the Production and Supply Chain group as required

General
In addition to the above duties, the employee shall undertake the following general and special duties:

* All duties associated with normal day to day operational activity such as responding to telephone queries, maintaining softcopy and hardcopy documentation and filing in an orderly state * Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials which include maintaining a professional and well organized workspace  * Undertake specific tasks as may be directed from time to time by immediate supervisor

Requirements
* Completion of a high school diploma  * 1-3 years of experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment is required * Good working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office suite * Experience with an ERP system an asset * Familiar with safety practices and record keeping * Above average attention to detail * Ability to operate materials handling equipment * Strong communication skills both verbal and written * Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness * Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills  * Demonstrated success building and maintaining relationships with all departments  * Strong initiative, problem identification and problem resolution skills  * Valid class G Driver’s license  * Physically able to lift heavy packages, supplies and objects up to 50 pounds
