Business information: Finn Way General contractor Inc, a Thunder Bay based General Contractor providing commercial, educational/institutional and light industrial construction; servicing the Northwestern region of Ontario, is seeking to hire an experienced Construction Project Manager.

Job Description
• Recruit, hire and supervise staff
• Hire and supervise activities of subcontractors
• Read blueprint, schemas and drawings
• Operate CADD and other computer software systems
• Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates
• Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress
• Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements
• Establish and implement policies and procedures for quality control
• Select trade subcontractors and co-ordinate their activities
• Plan and manage budgets
• Direct the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions
• Develop and implement quality control programs
• Oversee the analysis of data and information
• Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations
• Prepare reports
• Liaison with site supervisor on projects
• Maintain records of project progress
• Assist with estimating for future project tenders
• Overall management and coordination of the project construction team
• Initiate, manage and maintain the LEED program documentation to achieve required project LEED points
• Promote and enforce the company’s Health and Safety Management System
• Management of project commissioning and close-out.
Requirements
– Education: A university degree in civil engineering or a college diploma in construction technology is a strong asset
– Project management certification/diploma or a minimum of two years of experience in Project Management is required.
– LEED understanding, training/credentials and experience is required
– Construction experience is an asset
– Ability to work independently and multi-task
– Organized and Self-motivated to drive completion of tasks as accurately as possible
– Excellent communication skills
– Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project
– Valid G Class Driver’s license
– Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Tight deadlines and work under pressure
– Ability to supervise 5-10 people
– English language is required.
Salary: $39.78 to $41.00 per hour; 40 hours per week
Benefits: Health contribution benefits up to 15 000 per year.
Important Information: This position requires working 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday. Work schedule is from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with two paid breaks of 15 min each per day and 60 minutes of unpaid lunch. Overtime may be required depending on the business projects.
