Full-Time 1A Driver – Long Haul in Regina

Sexton Transport is a well-established Saskatchewan based trucking operation responsible for the safe, efficient and damage free delivery of products primarily to Kenroc Building Materials Co. Ltd. branches across Western Canada and other customer locations across Canada. In addition some travel into the United States may be required.
Sexton is currently looking for summer relief Long Haul Drivers for employee vacation coverage, etc.
Our ideal candidate would be an experienced (5+ years) SUPERTRAIN FLAT DECK ROLL TARP DRIVER with a Class 1A license.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
Overseeing all aspects of the condition of the truck unit, including loading and unloading, safety and product security.
Performing both pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Performing emergency roadside repairs.
Obtaining special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
Record keeping of cargo information, distance travelled, fuel consumption and other information in log books.
Proactively communicating with dispatcher and other drivers on a regular basis.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Capability to travel into the United States
Ability to complete emergency/mechanical truck repairs
Ability to problem-solve
Aptitude for detail
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Experience completing logbooks, inspection reports and pre/post trips
