Job Summary
Responsibilities:
Operate a tracked or truck mounted drilling rig on site – must have a full understanding of all the tasks required
Assume responsibility to ensure all equipment is operated correctly to obtain maximum life out of equipment & tools
Ensure that all tasks are executed with safety of the team in mind
Assist with ongoing training of drillers helpers
Assist with on-site repairs to minimize or remove down time
Consistently follow all company policies and procedures.
Tasks:
Operate drill to obtain cores for mineral exploration
Prepare reports as required
Use your technical expertise to support operational needs
Other tasks as required
Additional Information
This position is in the mineral exploration sector
The schedule is 28 days out of town where the shifts are 12 hours long
After the 28 days out you will enjoy 14 days at home
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
Qualifications:
5 years’ experience as a Diamond Driller in mineral exploration
Valid first aid certificate with CPR
English language competency – verbal & written
Physical stamina and ability to frequently lift and carry heavy pieces of equipment
Mechanical aptitude and physical dexterity are important
Common Core Certification would be considered a major asset
Demonstrated ability to learn new skills and apply learnings quickly
Valid Driver’s License
Must be able to supply 2 references to attest to experience and work performance
We require successful applicants to take and pass a drug screen test
Enjoy working outside of cities in smaller towns and sometimes in remote locations
Able to adapt to working in a small group

All transportation costs are covered – including if you are living in another province and “commuting” to Winnipeg to go to site
Benefits start after 30 days and are co-payed
Overtime is paid after 40 hours per week
