POSITION: G Licensed Truck Driver, Restore
LOCATION: North York ReStore (1120 Caledonia Rd)
STATUS: Permanent Full-time
SHIFT HOURS: Monday – Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (40 Hours a week), with some flexibility

Habitat for Humanity GTA is seeking a friendly and energetic individual to join our team of Drivers. Reporting to the Manager, ReStore Logistics & Donor Services, the ReStore Driver will be responsible for picking up, dropping off, delivering and salvaging donated furniture, building and renovation materials in a safe and efficient manner throughout the GTA while being a respectful ambassador for Habitat for Humanity GTA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Alerting the Manager to the condition of ReStore vehicles and repairs or maintenance as required.
Determining the most efficient route to perform daily pick-ups.
Evaluating the suitability of materials at pick up and salvage locations in accordance with current established criteria.
Overseeing the volunteer salvage team and coordinating the removal of materials in conjunction with the team in a safe and efficient manner.
Ensuring all salvage and pick-up sites and surrounding areas are left clean and undamaged.
Alerting the Manager to any safety hazards and challenges at salvage sites.
Assisting in store operations when required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Valid class “G” or above driver’s license; a clean driver’s abstract required.
Able to safely operate a motor vehicle (cube van)
Safety boots required: CSA approved safety footwear to be worn at all times.
Enjoys dealing with the public; excellent customer-service skills; works well independently and as part of a team
Must be punctual, reliable
Pickup & delivery experience is an asset
Ability to perform heavy lifting on a regular basis; able to easily lift 50 lbs. and to safely handle donated products such as cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, appliances, construction materials
Trustworthy
Accountable
Assets (though not required):
Understanding of volunteer engagement
Knowledge of renovation and building materials
