Job Description
We are looking for someone with Heavy Equipment schooling for Haul Truck We are willing to train the right person.
Dozer and Excavator operators require 4+ years of experience mass dirt movement as a Heavy Equipment Operator who will be working throughout Ontario.
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible to safely operate heavy equipment, completing equipment related tasks including bulk dirt movement, loading trucks, sloping and shaping in a variety of locations through Ontario as per the specifications and direction from the Foremen and Superintendent and customer. It is the responsibility of the operator, to complete these tasks in a safe and efficient manner to avoid injury to themselves or others or damage to the equipment or other property. Equipment used will include haul (rock) trucks, excavators (Cat Control), front-end loaders, bulldozers, graders and compactors. The Heavy Equipment Operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment.
Common Roles and Responsibilities
Consistently promotes by direction and example, the company values, Mission and Vision Informs the Foremen and / or Superintendent of resource requirements well in advance
Provides guidance to their crew(s) based on their extensive experience
Ensures all JHA’s are complete as required and turned into the Foremen and / or Superintendent
Completes their daily equipment log and safety checks on each unit operated
Report any equipment deficiencies as they encounter them
Responsible for the safety of the crews they are directly working with
Follow new safety and task-specific protocols as they are implemented
Clean and Grease the equipment as necessary
Park the equipment in a safe manner when not in use
Required Skill Set
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Operate all heavy equipment such as: Excavator (cat control), haul (rock)trucks, bulldozers, front-end loaders, graders crusher, screen plants and other related equipment;
Ensure and manage the machines or equipment in a safe and secure way;
Strong technical knowledge of Bulk Dirt Movement in both a Civil Construction and Pit and Quarry setting
Perform periodic safety, maintenance or service checks to ensure proper functions of the equipment; Inform and advise of any repairs or maintenance required on equipment;
Perform road work, excavation work, lifting work, as required; Respond to signals and directions by staff and work in coordination with them;
Maintain proper coordination and cooperation with the road and transport system while driving/working, so that normal activities are not disrupted;
Work in adherence to safety practices, procedures, work site and traffic laws;
Perform other related duties that may arise from time to time.

Ability to make it to the Job Site as directed by the Dispatcher Valid driver’s license
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
Have a Safety-Focused approach to work, and ability to handle and assist in emergency situations
4 + years of heavy equipment operator experience
Methods and techniques for proper set up and of the equipment to maximize efficiency
Adhering to all workplace safety practices
Both manual and electronic operations
Must have physical ability to withstand a strenuous and dangerous work environment
Possess physical strength to operate heavy and power-driven equipmen

Able to work independently with minimal supervision
