The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe operation of Company owned vehicles and the delivery of merchandise to both Sobeys and Safeway retail locations. As the Truck Driver you will be responsible for:
Completing truck and trailer pre-inspections
Ensuring that proper documentation is maintained; including but not limited to trip manifests and log books.
Maintaining equipment and reporting any damages, repairs, and equipment malfunctions.
Safely and respectfully operating Company owned vehicles; including exercising good driving manners and taking precautionary measures during inclement weather conditions.
Ensuring the merchandise is stowed in a safe and damage-free manner.
Unloading merchandise at retail locations.
Ensuring case-counts and deliveries corresponds with orders, pick-up credits, or damaged product.
Maintaining a good working relation with customers at all times through cooperative attitude and well-groomed appearance.
Adhering to all driver Standard Operating Procedures
Maintaining a clean and safe work environment as per company requirements
Additional duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Class “A” or “1” Driver’s License
Two years experience driving a tractor-trailer and/ or straight truck
High School Graduate
Accuracy and attention to detail to ensure the case-count delivered corresponds with the order
Ensure that the proper documentation is maintained
A proven track record of superior customer service skills
