Job Description
Position: General Labourer / Forklift Operator
Location: Ottawa
Salary: $14 per hour
Shifts: from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Thursday; from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays (schedule subject to change as required)
Are you certified to operate a propane forklift and have a valid forklift license with experience working with large unbalanced loads? If so, you may be the one we are looking for!
Our client needs to hire an experienced, reliable and team-oriented General Labourer / Forklift Operator to fill a long-term contract with a potential for becoming permanent based on performance.
Please note that you must have a vehicle to be considered for this opportunity. Location is in the East End and not bus accessible.
Job Details:
– Performing general labour
– Operating machines
– Working in a steel plant
– Lifting 50+ lb. on an ongoing basis
– Performing very labour-intensive work
– Moving raw materials using a forklift
– Managing large unbalanced loads
Important: forklift operation will be the secondary role – approximately 5 to 10% of job duties.
Salary: $14 per hour
Shifts:

Requirements:
– 1 – 2 years of forklift experience
– 1 – 2 years of labour experience
– Ability to lift 50+ lb.
– Current forklift certification (propane) and propane handling certificate – a must
– Ability to manage large unbalanced loads
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
– Attention to detail
– Reliability and punctuality
– Ability to work under minimal supervision
Experience working on an overhead crane would be considered an asset.
