IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Yard Foreman
BASIS FUNCTION: Greet and serve customers. Receive stock, pull and prepare for delivery merchandise. Helps keep warehouses maintained well, clean, organized and safe.
REPONSABILITIES:
Provides customer service for retail, contractor or professional builder customers.
Load outgoing merchandise. Ensure that merchandise quantity and description match the invoice order.
Unload incoming merchandise. Ensures that merchandise received matches orders and put in the designated area.
Evaluates returned merchandise for proper disposition (resale, salvage, etc) and confirm with yard foreman.
Maintains accurate inventory count
Maintains a clean yard environment including warehouses, fences and open areas.
Keep machinery clean and functional.
Follow compliance of Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Help and assist lift truck operator and drivers in the yard.
EDUCATION: High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
EXPERIENCE: At least three (3) year in customer service. Previous heavy lifting is a definite asset. Counterbalance lift truck experience is an asset.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
Good interpersonal, communication and Customer Service Skills
Good reading, writing and mathematical skills
Familiarity with industrial workplace and machinery
Physical demands:
Strength (lift, carry, push and pull): Maximum lift, 100 lbs.; Frequently lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach with manual dexterity and see acute depth perception and field of vision.
Trunk rotation with 20 lbs. at arms length 180 degrees from side to side.
Bend, stoop or squat to floor level on a repetitive basis.
Reach over head to grasp materials.

Environment and physical working conditions:
Work outside in temperatures ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold.
LICENCE AND CERTIFICATION: Valid driver’s licence with a clean driver abstract and insurable at a regular rate by the insurers of the employer. Valid WHMIS Certification, Valid Basics of Fall Protection Certification.

As per schedule with activity
Days, Night, Evening, occasionally on Saturday.
