Full-Time General Labourer – Manufacturing in Toronto
Job Description
Position: General Labour
Reporting to the supervisor, the General Labourer will be responsible to ensure the achievement of general and specific job requirements. Must be Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, clean and oil release forms, forming tables and associated process tools
Move materials and equipment and assist in the pouring, vibrating, finishing and repairing of precast concrete parts
Ability to measure and check product length, width and notch locations
Handle and distribute construction materials (e.g. pack and unpack skids of supplies, equipment and construction materials; move equipment and construction materials to and from work areas; remove rubble and other debris to appropriate bins or containers)
Handle materials that weigh up to 40 kg
Organize parts, tools and equipment
Ability to operate cutting equipment and hand tools such as a table saw, grinder or sander to shape parts
Adherence to health and safety regulations
Understand basics of quality control
Clean work space on a regular basis
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
Required Knowledge & Skills:
Ability to read tape measure (metric/imperial) and drawings
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Safety conscious and willing to maintain a clean and orderly work environment
Must have good organization skills and enjoy hands-on work
Must be reliable, punctual and willing to learn new skills
Physical strength and stamina
Manual dexterity and high attention to detail
Ability to set-up, maintain and clean equipment and tools.
Ability to be a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers.
Flexible to work overtime when needed.
Requires CSA approved work boots
One year experience in a similar field is preferred
