Job Description The mandate of Manufacturing Services is to provide high quality, fast turn-around manufacturing services. The type of work done consists of manufacturing tooling, prototypes, mock-ups, nuclear components, pressure vessels and supports. This position supports this type of work by supplying basic and general machining skills.
Responsibilities .Perform material handling aspect of shipping and receiving within Manufacturing Services
.Perform daily crane Inspections
.Provide material handling services at our facilities
.Cuts material to size.
.Operate forklifts, cranes and other equipment as required
.Maintain our raw material areas in an safe, organized and tidy manner
.Perform safety related tasks.
.Performs other duties as assigned
.Maintain a computerized material inventory system including data entry
Requirements .Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent and normally has up to 5 years of pertinent experience.
.Must be able to measure material using a vernier and tape measure.
.Must be able to safely operate overhead cranes and fork lifts.
.Must practice diligent use of Event Free Tools
.Must be able to pass certification requirements for rigging and operation of overhead cranes and operation of forklift trucks.
.Will required to work independently once given instructions.
.Good verbal and written communication is required to interact with Machine & Fabrication Shop members and other CE staff.
.Practice 3-way communication.
.Utilizes tools and equipment in a safe manner, reporting all incidents, broken equipment or need for maintenance to supervisor.
.Work may include occasional field assignments and work in a radiation environment at a client site, hence classification, as a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW) is a requirement.
.May be required to work with radioactive materials.
.Must be available to work planned overtime if assigned
.Must be co-operative and must demonstrate ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
.Must work in a safe manner and must follow CE as well as jurisdictional safety rules.
