Truck Driver/Labourer
Under the general supervision of the Roads Supervisor and within established policies, procedures and guidelines for the responsible and safe operation of a minimum size 5 tonne snow-plow truck with levelling wing as well as salter/sander.
In addition, to safely operate heavy equipment related to the construction and maintenance of roads, parking lots, storm sewers, curbs, sidewalks and recreation trails for the Niagara Parks Commission.
Duties also include the safe operation of a variety of small tools and equipment and assigned labour tasks.
Qualifications:
Valid Class “DZ” driver’s license and working knowledge of any applicable legislation including the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Willing and able to obtain a Class “AZ” driver’s license and certification in the operation of front end loader, elevated work platforms (EWP) and fork lift.
Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) as Heavy Equipment Operator – Excavator will be considered an asset.
Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in the safe operation of a minimum size 5 tonne single axle snow-plow truck with levelling wing and salter/sander truck.
Ability to operate heavy road construction and maintenance equipment.
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position and ability to work weekends, evenings and shift work.
A successful Police Information Check is required for the selected candidate.
The wage range for the position is ($21.81-$24.48/hr) as well as a comprehensive benefit and pension plan.
